Coordinator for Outdoor Life and Volunteer Engagement

We are looking for an engaged and driven coordinator who wants to develop and strengthen outdoor life, community life, and volunteer engagement in Karlsborg Municipality.

The Workplace

We are a department working within libraries, culture, and leisure, striving to create meaningful activities and meeting places for the municipality's residents. The role of Coordinator for Outdoor Life and Volunteer Engagement is centrally located within the culture and leisure department, with the head of culture and leisure as your immediate supervisor. Here, you will work independently but in close collaboration with colleagues, associations, other organizations, and our municipal company Visit-Karlsborg, where you will become a key person in strengthening and developing engagement in Karlsborg – a place where nature, community, and initiative are in focus.

Responsibilities

As a coordinator, you will play a key role in creating a vibrant leisure environment for all residents of the municipality. Your mission is to promote and organize activities that strengthen community ties and encourage an active and sustainable leisure life, with a particular focus on nature, hiking trails, recreation, and a wide range of associations. You will coordinate efforts, drive projects, manage grants, and build strong collaborations with associations, organizations, and other stakeholders. You will recruit, train, and lead volunteers to build an engaged and well-trained volunteer group that helps drive projects and activities forward. Through your work, you will create meaningful experiences and opportunities for residents of all ages.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is structured, persistent, and inspiring, preferably with a university degree. You have a natural ability to build relationships, drive development, and find solutions that lead to long-term results. Working flexibly and goal-oriented is a given for you, and you thrive on both collaborating and taking your own initiatives.

We seek a coordinator who is flexible and can adapt to changing circumstances while carrying out tasks with a persistence that inspires others. Your work will require collaboration skills, as you will work together with both volunteers and various stakeholders related to leisure activities. A successful candidate should see relationships as central, meaning you can build and maintain long-term collaborations that benefit our residents.

You also need to be decisive in your actions and able to take initiative to drive projects forward. A structured working method is crucial for planning and organizing activities effectively.
